UPDATE 4/10: The Senate Health and Human Services Committee will be hearing testimony today on SB 1033, the Preborn NonDiscrimination Act, which would ban late-term abortions and abortions based on disability, race or sex of the baby in Texas. Additionally, SB 23, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, has passed the full Senate and is headed to the house. Please continue to contact your state legislators about these pro-life bills below!
As pro-abortion radicals in New York legalize and cheer the killing of full-term babies, and the Democratic Virginia Governor calmly talks about leaving fully-born babies to fight for their lives, Texas is posed to lead the fight for life with several important proposed laws. Just recently, Sen. Lois Kolkhorst and Rep. Jeff Leach held a press conference at the Texas Capitol introducing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. We are thankful for the strong pro-life leadership in the Texas House and Senate. Here are several important pro-life bills that we support this session:
HB 16 by Rep. Jeff Leach/SB 23 by Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, the Texas Born Alive Infant Protection Act. The bill would strengthen protections for infants who survive abortion procedures to ensure that the highest standard of medical care is afforded to the baby.
HB 1929 by Rep. Candy Noble/SB 22 by Sen. Donna Campbell, Taxpayer Protection from Funding Abortion Providers. The bill would ban local governments and state agencies from sending taxpayer money to abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, or their affiliates.
HB 2434 by Rep. Matt Shaefer/SB 1033 by Sen. Kelly Hancock, Preborn NonDiscrimination Act (PreNDA). The bill would eliminate late-term abortions in Texas and ban discriminatory abortions based on the disability, race, or sex of the baby.
