Update 9-10-19: The Austin City Council is voting on proposed amendments TODAY. Today’s proposals very likely include the amendment that gives $150,000 of taxpayer dollars to support abortion. Please contact the Austin City Council below!
Austin City Council will be holding a meeting for the public to comment on the city’s proposed budget on Wednesday August 28, at 6 PM. One budget proposal includes a donation of $150,000 of taxpayer funds to programs that give special “services” and special “assistance” to women seeking abortions. Many pro-abortion activists addressed the city council last week on their decision. However, Austin leaders and the Austin City Council needs to hear from those who disagree with their taxpayer dollars being used to financially support abortion assistance.
Please come to city council to testify against the city financially endorsing the killing of preborn children. In order to testify, you must go to a kiosk in the lobby of City Hall and register electronically. You should sign up to comment on agenda item 5 that addresses the budget for fiscal year 2019-2020. You can begin signing up to testify at noon on the day of the meeting and up until before the meeting begins. Please arrive to the meeting early to testify so that you may sign-up before the meeting begins.
If you cannot attend the Budget Hearing on Wednesday night, please contact your city leaders and elected officials to stop them from financially endorsing the killing of unborn children.
