UPDATE: AISD postponed work session discussion last week (2-11) and will now have public work session on revising its human sexuality and responsibility curriculum on Monday, Feb. 18. Final vote is still expected on Monday, Feb. 25.
Austin Independent School District (AISD) is having a work session to discuss revising the human sexuality and responsibility curriculum. The school district faced backlash last year after they refused to have parental input in their sex-education curriculum discussions and in response, sent out a survey to parents. Unfortunately, the fundamentally flawed survey only gave options to parents when the LGBT agenda and dangerous sexual activity should be discussed, not if those topics should be discussed in schools.
Please contact the AISD School Board Members TODAY and tell them to vote NO on the new sex-education revisions which are modeled after Planned Parenthood and pro-LGBT organizations. School board members need to know parents are NOT ok with a curriculum that:
• Promotes homosexual and transgender behavior as early as elementary school
• Promotes dangerous sexual activity among students
• Teaches students how to use condoms
• Teaches students about “Emergency contraception”
• Promotes and teaches students where to find pro-LGBT resources
• Contradicts the religious values and behavioral expectations of many families
Please contact the AISD School Board Members TODAY and tell them to vote NO on the new sex-education revisions! A vote and opportunity for public testimony is expected at the Feb. 25 board meeting.
