UPDATE: The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) will be casting a final vote on the Health Education TEKS next week, November 17-20. Thanks to your continued engagement and the SBOE standing firm in September, the final draft does NOT promote radical sex education or contain pro-abortion or LGBTQ propaganda.
The draft for second reading is abstinence focused and includes the advantages of abstinence from sexual activity, while focusing on healthy marriages and families as goals students should set for their future.
We need to make sure the SBOE stands strong for the final vote! Please take action today by contacting the SBOE to support Texas’ common sense, abstinence focused approach. We also need people to sign up to testify during the virtual meeting on November 17. Registration for testimony will open Thursday, November 12 at 8 AM and close Thursday November 13 at 5 PM.
Leftist groups are lobbying again for radical LGBTQ amendments, including teaching young kids to consent to sexual activity. Pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood and Jane’s Due Process have also advocated that abortion should be taught to young students.
It is critically important that board members continue to resist last minute efforts to adopt radicalized sex education. The future of 5.5 million public school students hangs in the balance.
